Assistant Program Manager - Respite (Mental Health)/ New Brunswick, NJ

The Assistant Program Manager, under the direction of the Program Manager, will supervise the service team to ensure guest are receiving services that are geared toward learning crisis coping skills and linking to resources in their community. Work as part of a team, to provide services to the guest that are consistent with agency’s mission, vision, values, Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles and the concept of wellness and recovery. This program provides an alternative to hospitalization for individuals with psychiatric disabilities who are in crisis. During their stay, guest will work on a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and be linked to services and resources within their community. Guest stay a max of 10 days.

Crisis Counselor (MCORT)/ Freehold & Newark, NJ

The Bachelor Level Crisis Counselor position is part of the Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams (MCORT) in Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex and Union counties.  The MCORT team will consist of “Master Level Supervisors” & “Peer Support Specialists”. The Crisis Counselors and Peer Support Specialists will respond to calls dispatched through the 988 crisis center. They will provide support and appropriate interventions, to stabilize the situation.  

MCORT provides 24/7 mobile community outreach services to adults in crisis, including mental health, substance use, and suicidal emergencies. Calls are dispatched through the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline Call Center. Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams will be available to help individuals de-escalate their crisis and access needed resources.

HIGHLIGHTS

  •  Provide immediate support, crisis intervention, and promote mental health and wellness.
  • Document  services based on billing and regulatory standards; and reflect all demographic data.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competency in appropriate care, trauma informed, de-escalation techniques, suicide assessment, and safety planning.

The Unit Wellness Mentor delivers individual and group peer support, socialization and recreational activities. The Wellness Mentor delivers individual and group peer support, socialization and recreational activities at the wellness center located on the grounds of the State Psychiatric Hospital. Master Level Supervisor (MCORT)/ Freehold & Newark NJ

The Master Level Supervisor will oversee the Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams (MCORT) in Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex and Union counties.  The team will consist of Peer Support Specialists & Bachelor’s Level Crisis Counselors. Under the direction of the CFO, the Payroll & Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll and employee time system related responsibilities, as well as performing other accounts payable functions and projects as directed.

  • Process bi-weekly payroll ensuring all hours and adjustments are entered, proactively running reports to capture any potential errors before transmitting.
  • Review quarterly federal, state, and local tax reports prepared by the third- party payroll vendor.

The Peer Support Specialist is trained in crisis intervention and will provide crisis care through a peer lens ensuring that the individual feels heard and understood as well as modeling hope that there is a path forward. 

MCORT provides 24/7 mobile community outreach services to adults in crisis, including mental health, substance use, and suicidal emergencies. Calls are dispatched through the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline Call Center. Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams will be available to help individuals de-escalate their crisis and access needed resources.

The Unit Wellness Provider delivers individual and group peer support on the grounds of the State Psychiatric Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals in articulating personal goals using individual and group sessions. During these sessions the Unit Wellness Provider will support in identifying and creating goals with the skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid them in achieving those goals.
  • Utilize and teach problem solving techniques. During sessions, individuals will share common difficulties in daily living and methods they have employed to manage and cope with these difficulties.
  • As much as possible, the UWP will share their own recovery story and as the facilitator of these groups, will demonstrate how they have directed their own recovery.
  • Advocate for discharging individuals to ensure appropriate community-based treatment and recovery linkages and services.
  • Plans and runs social and recreational activities at the wellness center.

The Wellness Centers are designed to empower people in recovery to realize a lifestyle centered on wellness, a balanced state of social, spiritual, financial, occupational, environmental, mental, emotional, and physical health. CSPNJ oversees the operation of 23 community-based, peer-run centers, including three on grounds at the State Hospitals (Ancora, Trenton, and Greystone).

Peers with lived experience of using the mental health or addiction services is ideal. This role may use their personal lived experience to share with members and provide a model of what recovery can be by sharing about their own recovery journey.

During their stay guests will work on a Wellness Plan and be linked to services and resources within their community in collaboration with the Wellness Respite Associate. Wellness Respites offer stays for up to ten days and provide an open-door setting where guests can continue their daily activities. This program provides an alternative to hospitalization for individuals who are in crisis. 

Part-time | 32 hours p/w| Benefit Eligible including  6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays
